We’re proud to announce that Kheir Clinic was awarded “Community Clinic of the Year” in Los Angeles Business Journal’s Health Care Panel & Awards!
The virtual awards event on August 26th included an engaging panel discussion with some of Los Angeles’ most distinguished healthcare industry leaders, with acceptance remarks from award winners.
Fellow awardees included Cedars-Sinai (Hospital or Medical Center of the Year), Milken Institute (Research Institute of the Year), Rod Hanners of Keck Medicine of USC (Hospital CEO or President of the Year), Karen Grimley of UCLA Health (Hospital Executive of the Year), John Baackes of L.A. It was an honor to accept the award on behalf of the Kheir Clinic team, Board of Directors, and more than 19,000 patients we serve. Across the nation, Health Centers serve more than 29 million patients, and clinics serve as major economic engines in our communities. Health Centers create $55 billion in total economic activity and hundreds of thousands of jobs. 1 out of 6 Californians are served by a Community Health Center like ours.
And Kheir is far more than just a health center! Weāre a source for food, groceries, clothing, diapers, school supplies, and even holiday toys. During the pandemic, Kheir has delivered more than 11,000 hot meals to seniors!
Kheir Clinic began as a one-room referral office in Koreatownātoday, we operate 5 sites, including Adult Day Health Care centers. In the past 10 years, weāve experienced more than 500% growth, and Kheir is the only full time, nonprofit health center in the nation that provides a full suite of services in English, Korean, Spanish, Bengali, and Thai. Our patient base is a reflection of our Cityās rich cultural diversity, and it is our privilege to serve!
We thank LABJ Events for this honor and recognition, as we renew our commitment to eradicating food insecurity, homelessness, and racial health disparities in our country!
